Who is Samuel Wilson

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” — Psalm 104:33

Welcome, friend. I’m so glad you’re here.

About Samuel Wilson

My Story

Music has been a part of my life from the very beginning.

I come from a family of singers—my grandmother Dollie Mae Johnson, my mother Zola Wilson, my uncle David Sea, and even my grandmother Josephine Wilson all carried a gift for music. But my story is more than just a musical background—it is a story of God’s faithfulness.

My mother was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at the age of 13 and was told she would not live past her teenage years. There was no cure. But my grandmother, a woman of deep faith, went into her prayer closet and declared over her life, “You shall live and not die. You will have three children. The first will be a son. You will name him Samuel. You must guard him and keep his gift for the Lord.”

I am that son.

At the age of three, I was asked to sing with my mother’s gospel group, The Gospel Soloettes. The song was “There Was a Man Standing by the Wayside,” and the response was overwhelming. From that moment on, I was singing in concerts, and opportunities began to come. But my family never lost sight of what mattered most.

My grandmother would always say,
“Sing, baby. Sing for Jesus.”

That has stayed with me all my life.

My Calling

I’ve always known that music was more than just singing for me.

From an early age, I recognized that I had been given a gift—but I also understood that the gift was never just for me. It was meant to reach beyond me, to encourage others, and to carry a message that could impact lives.

I believe that calling extends far beyond a stage. It’s for people, for hearts, and even for nations.

Because of that, I don’t take this gift lightly.

My Heart Through Music

I believe music is something that can be felt, experienced, and understood by everyone.

There is a style of music for every person, and while music can certainly entertain, my desire goes far beyond that.

When people hear me sing, I want them to have an encounter with the Most High.

I want them to experience a God who is loving—
who is not mad at them, but mad about them.

I want people from all walks of life to feel the heart of God calling them,
“Come, just as you are.”

And in that moment, I pray their lives are changed—not because of me, but because of what Christ has already done for all of us, once and for all.

My Message

If someone understands one thing about my heart and my ministry, it is this:

God created us in His image for union and relationship with Him.

Because of sin, that relationship was broken—but God, in His love, created a plan to restore us. Through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, He made a way for all of us to come back into relationship with Him.

God is loving. He sees us, He knows us, and He welcomes us just as we are.

That same invitation is open to everyone.

Our journeys may look different, and our stories are not all the same, but His love reaches us in every stage of life. And I believe that He—and He alone—is able to fully restore us.

Not by man’s plans… but by His.
