When the Walls Don't Look Like They're Moving

One of the things that strikes me about the story of Jericho is that the walls didn't fall on the first lap around the city.

Or the second.

Or the third.

For six days, God's people walked in obedience without seeing any visible change.

The walls stood.

The obstacles remained.

The promise seemed just as far away as it had the day before.

Yet they kept walking.

They kept trusting.

They kept believing that God was working even when they couldn't see it.

How often do we give up because we don't see immediate results?

We pray, and the answer doesn't come.

We sing, and the breakthrough doesn't happen.

We obey, and the circumstances don't change.

But faith is not believing because we see the walls falling.

Faith is continuing to walk because God has spoken.

The walls of Jericho did not fall because Israel had great strength. They fell because God was faithful.

The same is true today.

Whatever wall stands before you—fear, disappointment, rejection, uncertainty, or discouragement—remember that God is still able to bring down what seems impossible.

Keep walking.

Keep trusting.

Keep praising.

The God who brought down the walls of Jericho has not changed.

Scripture

"By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days."
