Good To Me
A reflection on God’s quiet faithfulness
There are moments in life when you don’t realize what God is doing… until you look back and see His hand in it all.
This devotional is a reflection on God’s quiet faithfulness—how He shows up in ways we don’t always expect, but always need.
Scripture Focus: Psalm 23:6
There are moments in life when you don’t fully recognize what God is doing while you’re in it.
You’re just trying to get through the day… taking things one step at a time.
But then something shifts.
You look back—and suddenly you see it.
In the song “Good To Me,” I found myself reflecting on those quiet moments.
The ordinary mornings… the long roads… the days where I couldn’t see clearly.
And yet, through it all, God was there.
Not always loud.
Not always obvious.
But always faithful.
I have seen this in my own life.
I have so many stories I could share about how good God has been to me.
But one that always comes to mind is when I had a desire to attend a conference.
I didn’t tell anyone.
I didn’t even know if I could get the time off work.
And honestly… I didn’t have the money.
But quietly, I said:
“Lord… I would really love to go.”
Three days before the conference, a friend called me and said someone wanted to pay for my entire trip.
Then I went to work, thinking I’d have to figure things out…
but when the schedule came out, I already had the exact days off I needed.
To this day, I don’t know who that person was.
But I walked away saying:
“Thank You, God… You really do give us the desires of our hearts.”
Sometimes God’s goodness shows up quietly… personally… intentionally.
A door that opens.
A need that’s met.
A moment that reminds you:
He sees you.
He hears you.
He cares.
Maybe today, you can’t see the full picture yet.
But one day, you will look back and say:
“God… You were good to me… even then.”
Because He has been…
and always will be…
good.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your goodness, even in the moments I don’t recognize it.
Help me trust You in the present, and remind me of Your faithfulness in the past.
Teach my heart to see You… even in the ordinary.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
